Flame retardant fabrics classification and standards

At present, the main flame retardant fabrics are: finishing flame retardant fabrics, such as cotton, polyester-cotton, etc.; essential flame retardant fabrics, such as aramid, nitrile cotton, DuPont Kevlar, Nomex, Australia PR97, etc.

Flame retardant fabrics are divided into two kinds of fiber flame retardant and finishing flame retardant, and finishing flame retardant is divided into one-time flame retardant and durable flame retardant.

Fiber flame retardant, also called permanent flame retardant fabric, is mainly made of flame retardant fiber weaving, its flame retardant effect is permanent, generally can be maintained to more than 50 times of washing, still have a good flame retardant effect.

Durable flame retardant fabric usually adopts "PROBAN" production process, and the flame retardant used is a durable finishing flame retardant for cotton fiber and its blended fabrics.

Disposable flame retardant fabrics are ordinary fabrics treated with flame retardants in the later dyeing and finishing, and their major drawback is that the flame retardant effect disappears or declines significantly after washing, so they are usually used in some occasions where the number of washing is small, such as hotel curtains, etc.

The initial flame retardant performance of the three is not much different, but the flame retardant performance of the disposable flame retardant fabric disappears completely after washing.

The flame retardant fabrics produced by Kunshan Yingjie Textile Import & Export Co., Ltd. include cotton, polyester-cotton, chemical fiber and other materials, which have good flame retardant effect, and the fire source will be curled and carbonized, and the fire source will be extinguished once it leaves, without melting drops or black smoke, and will not produce secondary fires. Environmental protection, non-toxic, odorless, moisture permeable, breathable, soft to the touch, widely used in military, fire fighting, smelting, petrochemical and other industries.

Standard

GB8965-98 Chinese national flame retardant clothing standard

The Chinese National Bureau of Standards promulgated the standard for industrial flame retardant clothing in 1998 with reference to the 1988 standard of the same name and international standards of the same kind, which provides detailed provisions on the following aspects: overall performance of flame retardant clothing, flame retardant performance of clothing materials and seams, mechanical performance of clothing, construction design of clothing, processing and production, marking of finished products and packaging and transportation, inspection methods, etc.

GA10-91 China firefighters general protective clothing performance requirements and test methods

China's Ministry of Public Security promulgated the standard of general protective clothing for fire fighters, the provisions of the following: the overall performance of fire-retardant clothing, the fire-retardant performance of seams and clothing materials, the mechanical properties of clothing, the construction design of clothing, processing and production, finished product marking and packaging and transportation, inspection methods, etc.

EN531: EU standard for industrial thermal protective clothing

The overall performance of flame retardant clothing, construction design, dimensional stability, flame spread, heat resistance and molten metal performance, size marking and markings, user information, identification patterns, etc. are specified.

EN470-1: EU standard for thermal protective clothing for welders and similar trades

It specifies the design requirements, material requirements, safety requirements, size marking and labelling, user information, identification patterns, etc. for flame retardant clothing.

EN479 European Union Standard for Fire Protective Clothing

This standard specifies the criteria for structural fire protective clothing, with the main consideration being protection against heat and flame. The standard does not cover special tasks or special fire protection such as removal of spilled chemicals, forest fires, close fire fighting, road accident assistance, etc. The standard includes general requirements, important safety requirements, additional requirements, marking labels, user information, and identification patterns.

NFPA 2112: National Fire Protection Association Standard for Flame Retardant Clothing

The NFPA standard for industrialflashfire flame retardant protective clothing specifies the following: product markings, user information, garment design, fibers, stitching, accessories, and labeling.

NFPA 19712000 version of the National Fire Protection Association standard for firefighting clothing

This standard specifies the minimum requirements for structural firefighters' clothing, including garment design, performance, testing, and testing of clothing components and ancillary items (tops, pants, helmets, gloves, shoes and boots).

NFPA19771998 edition of the United States Fire Protection Association standard for firefighting clothing

This standard specifies the minimum requirements for the dress of firefighters fighting wildland fires, including the design, performance, testing, and testing of clothing components and ancillary items (shirts, jackets, pants, helmets, hoods, capes, gloves, shoes and boots).

AS4824-2001 Australian (transitional version) standard for firefighter protective clothing

The standard specifies the design requirements, sampling and pre-treatment, mechanical performance requirements, thermal performance requirements, ergonomics and comfort requirements, general requirements, manufacturer's information and markings for clothing used for wildland and forest firefighters.

AS4967-2002 Australian (Transitional Edition) Standard for Firefighting Protective Clothing

The standard specifies design requirements, proofing and pre-treatment, thermal performance requirements, mechanical performance requirements, ergonomics and comfort requirements, general requirements, manufacturer's information and marking marks for clothing for fire fighters fighting structural fires. pQ71ovf0d8
